Via Ferratas, or paths on exposed ridges are technically demanding tours – routes, where is necessary to use additional safety devices to move on a terrain.
In the Alpien countries they are known as via ferrata or Klettersteige in german language. In Slovakia there are not so many of them, but there are few of them worth to visit.
Short training ferratas are Hoblík (the Plane) in Višňové close to Žilina and Lom (the Stonepit) in Tatranská Kotlina.
Longer ones you can find in the Slovenský raj, rout in the Kyseľ valley was opened recently. In the Malá Fatra mountaines there is ferrata of Mountain rescue services on Martinské hole.
